Early in the summer, we decided that Isaac and Madeline should take swim lessons together this year at the beach. It was cheaper than lessons in Wake Forest, and let's face it...we would HAVE to spend a week at the beach with the cousins....who wouldn't opt for that!?!

Isaac barely made the 5 year old age requirement for swim lessons. Madeline, still 4 for another month, managed to sweet talk her way in. The first day of lessons started with a skills test to split the kids into smaller groups based on their ability. After watching almost all the other kids swim first our two jumped right into the water to show off their skills...and they both landed themselves a spot in the Level 2 class with all the older kids! Proud Mommy moment here!!

They had a great time all week. They worked on kicking, floating, and then finally arms strokes.

They even got to take a turn on the diving board. Something Isaac has been doing since he could walk, but it's always a fun reward to try out a board at a new pool!
So, you ask, what did the other two kids do while the big kids took lessons. They got to take "lessons" with Mommy and Aunta! They started the week in the kiddie pool (Isaac was very concerned where they kept the "kitties" while Lucas and Audrey played in their pool!) and then graduated up to the big kid pool.
Lucas couldn't get enough of jumping off the side of the pool.
For a kid who at the middle of June told me, "I don't like the pool," he sure has changed his tune quite a bit!
And then, they got a reward too. They got to jump off the diving board too!
Lucas' very first diving board jump. They would have kept this lifeguard in the pool all day if she'd let them!!
Isaac & Madeline are gearing up for next year's level 3 swim class, and Audrey and Lucas are already talking about making their first appearance at swim lessons next year! I love that these kids love the water as much as I do!!
