We spent the 4th of July week in Oak Island with the extended family. While most of the state got soaked with rain, our weather turned out to be pretty good. Sunday was a little on the dreary side, so Brian and I decided to take the boys to see the USS North Carolina Battleship in Wilmington. Isaac found an old captain's hat that Brian got there when he was a kid and ever since he asks to stop every time we drive by. So, he was pretty excited when we finally agreed to take him on a tour.

The boys boarding the ship. They really look like they want to pose for a picture don't they?

A little more agreeable here!

Searching for the enemy!

Isaac had a good time once we convinced him that the red lights on the interior of the boat made it easier for the crew to see and were not on because there was an emergency. Brian literally had to carry him crying past the first red light and down the first set of stairs to convince him of this. What can I say his mother was a safety officer and he seems to have absorbed some of that.
