Isaac is very excited about being a big brother in January. This weekend at Nana and Boppa's house, they pulled out the baby tub so that he could give one of Nana's baby dolls a bath. So, we may have to have some discussion about sharing the bathtub with the baby, but all in all, I think he's going to be a GREAT big brother!!

Happy Father's Day
Brian spent Father's Day laying on the couch with a stomach bug. Needless to say it was not much of a celebration. Isaac did his best to entertain his daddy and make his day memorable. I think this picture pretty much sums it up.
For those of you who are wondering, Isaac insisted there was a bug in his diaper and that he needed to take it and the rest of his clothes off. About 5 minutes after this picture was taken he went pee pee in the potty by himself for the first time. I thought that was a pretty good Father's Day present myself!!

The Raynor Water Park
We spent this weekend visiting with Nana and Boppa in Fayetteville. On Saturday, they had a big surprise for Isaac....a backyard water park!! Isaac had a blast playing in the water and with the hose. It was a great activity for a hot, humid Fayetteville summer day!
Here he is checking out the squirting "fish" that daddy caught in his hands.

After dinner, Kailey came down to swim with Isaac. They splashed and played until the sun went down and they were both shivering and cold!!
Here they are having an after swim snack.

It was a great day at the water park and a fun weekend with Nana and Boppa!!

Dance Party!!
Cousin Madeline stopped by with Aunta and Uncle Mark last night for a quick stay before heading off to the beach. The kids were up well past their bedtime and were quite entertaining. Here they are showing off their dance moves!

Sparklers
Who doesn't love playing with sparklers?? Don't worry, it's not as scary as it looks. My camera has a setting on it that makes these pictures look way more dramatic than sparklers really are. It makes for some awesome pictures, but no Isaac really isn't playing with an entire ring of fire!!

Sesame Street
As if we needed more adventure on Saturday, the real reason for Cousin Madeline coming to visit was the Sesame Street show "Elmo's Green Thumb" at the RBC Center. Isaac and Madeline both love the Sesame Street characters and we hoped they would both enjoy the show. Our seats were awesome, just three rows from the side of the stage, and the late show was far from full so we had plenty of room to move around! Isaac watched the entire show and would have gladly gone on stage had they asked him to go. Madeline, well, not so much. She had a rough start (see her story here), but finished strong and right in the front row beside Isaac! They both ended up having a great time, and even the adults enjoyed the show.

Spicy Chicken
Saturday was Spicy Chicken Sandwich day at Chick-fila in Wake Forest. Spicy chicken obviously means fire trucks and free ice cream in fire hats at Chick-fila. Woohoo!! Here are a few pics from our little adventure.

Blueberries!!
Madeline took Isaac on his first blueberry picking experience on Saturday. Let me just tell you that blueberry picking is way better than strawberry picking because you don't have to stand on your head to do it!! Blueberries grow on bushes - they need to make strawberries like that (get to work Uncle Mark our horticulture man)!! Anyways, we went to Bunn, NC to Vollmer Farm to go blueberry picking. Isaac did a great job of picking only the blue berries and placing them nicely into the bucket (only sampling occasionally), unlike cousin Madeline who seemed to be a human blueberry vacuum eating every berry...blue, red, or green...in sight! We had to stop using poor Madeline's bucket so she wouldn't get sick!! :)

You talking to us? No, we haven't seen anyone eating any blueberries!

It was a very hot day, and once the buckets were full Isaac seemed to be on a mission for the water cooler.
Vollmer Farm also had blackberries ready to pick. Isaac and Madeline were not near as fond of the tart blackberries as they were the sweet blueberries!
It's too hot for shirts on the farm!!
After the hard work of the harvest, we headed back to the barn for some fun. There was a nice plastic cow for milking. Both kids enjoyed this because there was water involved and they were able to get wet. Let's hope they don't ever try this with a real cow!
