Touring Vermont

On Monday, we spent the day making our way through the tours of Vermont. We started the morning with a stop at the Vermont Teddy Bear Company. Here we learned how they hand make every one of their bears and bear outfits. We also learned that these little guys are quite pricey! But somehow we got out of the factory store without any of the kids asking to take one home. Lucky for us!

Next stop, the Lake Champlain Chocolate Factory. Here we got a video tour of the plant complete with FREE samples!! Isaac and Madeline (well who am I kidding?)...all of us LOVED the free samples. Here is Isaac checking out a tray of Halloween candies.
His 6th free sample...

We stopped for lunch at Lake Champlain...
And then our next stop...the Ben & Jerry's Ice Cream Factory. Again, we attended the factory tour and got our free samples.

Check out our happy little man...

Last tour stop of the day was the Cabot Cheese Factory. This place was out in the absolute middle of nowhere, but it was there. When we got their they had actually just closed, but a tour bus of people was still in the gift shop, so they let us in. Isaac and Brian were all too excited about this. They still had out the samples of cheese and Isaac must have eaten an entire block in the 15 minutes we were in there. Brian, immediately fell in love with some of their nastiest flavors (not surprising to those of you who know him) and the woman convinced him that the cheese would travel fine from place to place with us. So, we are now the proud owners of a block of each of the following...Habanero nastiness, Smokey Bacon Yuck, and Sharp Cheddar (this one he bought for Isaac).
We ended our day back in New Hampshire at some little cabins in the woods.

One tired little boy...

We put the kids to bed and bundled up to go outside where we split 2 containers of Ben & Jerry's Ice Cream from the local Walgreens. (The line for ice cream at the factory was just too long!)

We had another great day touring the Northeast! Thanks Aunta for being such a great tour guide!!
