One thing we have not had trouble with this week is finding something to do. Southport definitely does the 4th of July celebration right. On Tuesday, they had games for the kids. We got up early and headed down to check it out.
And what says summer and the 4th of July like a watermelon race!
Even the littlest ones got to play.
After the races, we walked down to the water. This picture pretty much sums up the energy of the week. These kids have been full throttle and having a blast all week long!
Once the big kid games were finished, the hooked up a sprinkler to the corner fire hydrant. Being the newbies to the festival we did not plan for this, but the kids had even more fun because they got to play in the water in their clothes!
Boppa and the little ones found some leaf boats that they raced down the stream.
After naps and beach time, Boppa and Nana brought out the bubbles. Another activity that the kids thoroughly enjoyed. The big kids made the bubbles and the little ones popped them with the beach shovels!
Needless to say, these kids play hard but they also crash hard. They all got a good night’s sleep after all the fun we had on Tuesday!!
We had such a fun week! And those are the cutest kids around!
