We had the whole night planned...pizza at 5:30, Trick-or-Treat at 6:30. We’ve sweated to death in our costumes every year since Isaac was born, so why would this year be different? Well, it was. It was very different. The part we didn’t plan on was 46 degrees and rain.
When I, soaking wet from the pouring rain, brought the pizzas and the boys in from the truck poor Kathryn dressed as a beautiful angel had this look of such disappointment on her face. I said, well looks like the weather is great for us to get a LOT of candy tonight. Lynn just looked at me and laughed, “I knew you’d be crazy enough to still go”. Of course, we’re still going to go! It’s Halloween!! That’s what we do!! The kids were ecstatic!
Aunt RaRa, Aunt Cindy, Dave, Lynn, Jonathan, Kathryn and our family all celebrated Halloween tonight together.
Lucas was not so sure about the whole concept of masks. Here he is checking out Aunt RaRa as a puppy dog.
This picture makes me laugh. Jonathan just happened to walk behind Lucas at just the right angle. Those are Jonathan’s werewolf ears on Lucas’ head! Lucas is still not liking the mask thing.
The whole gang ready to trick or treat!!!
My little rocket!! I was so excited that he actually wore his costume. He refused to wear it until tonight! It did great keeping him nice and dry in the rain.

We took the kids over to a neighborhood with houses that are close together. They racked up on candy in a short amount of time. Lucas even braved the rain and went to a couple of houses before retiring to the van. Isaac had a blast until we got to a themed house with a scary setup in their garage. He was not fond of the zombie and did not want to visit any houses after that. I can’t say that I blame him. He never cried about it, but he also never took his eyes off that house!
Back at home we sorted the loot and had a fun time just visiting while the kids played. It’s so nice to have such great neighbors to hang out with. It’s also very nice to have Dave, Lynn and the kids back in NC where they belong. It just wasn’t the same here without them!! Happy Halloween everyone!!
