Advent - Day 5 - Day 10

It's been a busy week and while I haven't blogged, we have done a good job at keeping up with our advent family activities. Here's a quick recap of the week.

Day 5 - Sing Christmas Carols to the neighbors - We were on our way home from Fayetteville on the night of day 5, so we sang Christmas carols in the truck on the ride. Isaac's favorite carol so far is "Oh Christmas Tree".

Day 6 - Eat Chick-fila milk shakes - Isaac had never had a milkshake before tonight. He really enjoyed his chocolate shake and didn't even make a mess!!

Day 7 - Have a dance party to Christmas Music - I loaded up the cd player with Christmas cds and we danced in the living room. Sorry though, no video of this one!

Day 8 - Go Stargazing - OMG it was absolutely freezing out there!! But we went outside and attempted to see the stars. It was cloudy, so Daddy came to the rescue with his new Droid phone and the stargazing map. He held it up in the sky for Isaac to look at. Goofy yes, but really nice of him to make an effort to complete the task. After "stargazing" we walked across the street to see the neighbor's manger scene. Isaac absolutely loves it!

Day 9 - Make a Christmas Card - This one actually got postponed because we got home a little late. We plan on doing this on Saturday when we can drag out all the paints! And we're going to modify it a bit. A friend in Hickory, who was recently diagnosed with breast cancer, has asked all her friends to send paper strips to make a paper chain for her kids to count down her treatment days. So instead of a Christmas card, we're going to decorate paper chain pieces. (You're in our thoughts and prayers Erin!)

Day 10 - Go look at Christmas Lights - We drove all the way across town to eat dinner at a Moe's (one of Isaac's favorite places) and to run some errands. We took the long way through the country to see if we could find some cool decorations. There are actually a lot of people with lights this year and Isaac really enjoyed checking them out!

So that gets us up to the current date. We've had a blast doing our daily activities. It's just fun to open the box drawer every day to see what we get to do! I actually think I get more excited about it every day than Isaac does...hard to believe seeing as there's candy in each drawer!! Stay tuned for more activities and adventures!
