It was a cold, rainy weekend in Wake Forest, but we made the most of it by doing some fun indoor projects including our daily advent activities.
As mention previously, on Day 11 we made made paper chain pieces for our friends Kara and Anna (Erin & Kevin Sipe's daughters). Erin was recently diagnosed with breast cancer and asked that people send them decorated paper chain pieces to help them count down the days of her treatments. So, instead of the Christmas card that the box had assigned us to make, we made paper chain pieces. Isaac worked VERY hard on them, so we hope they like them!

The day 12 activity was to make Christmas spice ornaments. Isaac surprised me with this one and was very patient and enjoyed cutting out the ornaments!
Then Daddy and Isaac decided they needed some cookies, so they whipped up a batch of Brian's Cowboy Cookies. Isaac absolutely loves to help in the kitchen, so he was more than excited to help daddy with his cookies. They turned out great!

Day 13 - Tonight while sitting at dinner, Isaac asks "what do we have to do tonight?" Meaning what are the instructions from the advent box. Like I said at the beginning, Aunta (my sister) made this box for us, and she did an impeccable job at picking the coldest nights of the week to have us do something outside! Tonight's activity - "Make Hot Chocolate & Drink Outside". Great idea for a typical NC winter night, but we aren't having a typical winter. Tonight, it is 26 degrees and there are wind gusts around 20 mph, so we modified a bit and stayed INSIDE where it is warm. We enjoyed our hot chocolate under the Christmas tree!!
