Happy 40th Anniversary

Kenny Chesney's song "I Go Back" says it best:

"Jack Chuck and Diane painted a picture of a life in my dreams."

September 15th, 1972 is where my story truly begins. That is the day that my parents got married. And as they say, the rest is history....a pretty amazing one at that. Together they moved over 650 miles from home just days after their wedding and started their new life together. Their marriage portfolio includes stories of happiness, struggles, fun adventures, and heartbreaking losses. If you ask them, they will both tell you that their greatest accomplishments are their two daughters (of which I am so lucky to be one of them) and their four grandchildren. It's those four grandchildren that we asked about Oma & Opa, and here are their special anniversary messages from them:

Isaac (a little camera shy)

Madeline and Isaac together.
Fasten your seat belts people, we managed to capture some of Madeline's true character!

Sweet little Lucas. He seems to like the camera just fine.

We sat this weekend and pried at them for information about how they met, what their wedding was like, etc etc. It was so fun to hear all the stories, even the ones you could tell were lacking in full details or that my father was completely making up (like that they met at the bowling alley...something Anna believed for years! See I'm not the only gullible one!!)  As they celebrate their 40th year together, I couldn't be happier for the people that I am proud to call my parents, and I couldn't be more grateful that God chose to allow me to share in these two amazing people's lives. They are a real life model of what marriage is all about.

Happy 40th Anniversary Mom and Dad.
I love you both with all my heart.
(and despite what Madeline said, I'm hoping for 40 more!)

See the cousins' videos over on my sister's blog!!
