Every spring, NC State holds “Farm Animal Days” for young children to come enjoy life on a farm. We met up with our friends the Rogers’ and enjoyed the day together.
Isaac’s first stop was to hold a baby chicken. He did really good holding it in his hand even though he said it’s “claws” were sharp. Lucas on the other hand wanted absolutely nothing to do with that creepy little yellow thing. (Sorry no pictures here as I was trying to make sure the baby chick made it back to the bin without a concussion!)
Next stop, the cows. Now this, Lucas loved! As soon as I turned his stroller so he could see he started yelling “MOO MOO”. As a still pretty new stay at home mom, his reaction made me feel great. He is listening when mommy talks and tries to teach him things!! woohoo!! Score one for mommy!
Then it was off to the sheep. Isaac got to pet one of the babies. Lucas got to get out of his stroller to “baa” at the sheep (another proud mommy moment), but had to be strapped back in after I couldn’t keep him from licking the fence (something for mommy to work on).
We stood in line to sit in the orange tractor.
Lucas trying to coax a calf to come and play with him. (yes, he’s still strapped in the stroller.)
We even got in some real cowboy lasso time. I promised Isaac when we left the lasso area that I’d tie him a lasso when we got home. He promptly added, “and make me a cow too right?”
We ended our adventure with some NC State ice cream. Only the best in the world!! Lucas has not been much of an ice cream fan until I handed him a wooden spoon. Evidently the wooden spoon made it taste way better because it was gone in seconds!!
Isaac and Kailey enjoyed theirs too!
We all had a great morning exploring the farm.
