The boys decided that we needed to find out the weather forecast in person again this year. Saturday morning we packed up and headed to downtown Raleigh to hear Sir Walter Wally's official prediction for the next 6 weeks. We arrived about an hour early and spent the extra time exploring the NC History Museum.

We all enjoyed the NC Sports Hall of Fame the most.

We made it through the entire museum in a little less than an hour. It's easy to do since the boys can't read all the signs and were pretty much just looking for something to climb on (which they never found). So, out to see what the Ground Hog had to say.
If you've never been, it's a pretty cool event. There was a decent crowd for a cold Saturday and before they wake up Sir Walter Wally, the entire crowd sings the Ground Hog Song. It's really neat to hear all the adults (& kids) singing to the top of their lungs to wake up the ground hog. We woke him up alright, and he was none too pleased about it. He pretty much acted like a three year old that doesn't want to leave the playground....go limp, throw your arms in the air, they'll leave you alone!
But he did finally wake up and he saw his shadow, so 6 more weeks of winter for Raleigh, NC! Which if you think about it isn't too bad since the last two weeks have gone from snow one day to 70 degrees the next. (Ideal weather for me since if it's not snowing I don't want it to be cold!)
